The Reader Eclectic is all about offering fun and honest book reviews by and for people who just love reading.

It originally began its existence in 1999 under the name SpaceDragon Reviews and was dedicated to reviewing mostly science fiction and fantasy titles. It continued under that name until 2009, when it became The Reader Eclectic.

Well, you’ll still find primarily SF/F titles on TRE, because those are the genres we love to read. But they aren’t the only ones, and our name now reflects that a little better.

But what happened to all of those reviews from 1999, you ask? Current TRE dates only seem to go back until 2004.

Well, don’t be fooled. The truth is that digital files and constructs (i.e., websites) can be a little unreliable, and they occassionally lose your things. Unfortunately they sometimes lose a LOT of your things (despite trying to back them up regularly). In which case, you just keep moving forward and enjoy what you have. . . .
